Summer collection launched, includes Runway Hair
Backstage Pass event gives clients a peek at techniques used by fashion show stylists

dk hair launched a new collection of summer cuts and colors on 26 March during the salon’s BackStage Pass and Silent Auction event. Stylists and colorist showcased their artistry to nearly fifty guests who were invited to get close and personal as color, cuts and flair came together in a new collection of styles for the summer. In addition, guests were able to discuss best-practices on hair management, damage prevention and skin maintenance with stylists and co-owners David Valencia and Kenneth Bradshaw. The event closed with a runway walk of models sporting select “runway hair” styles from the salon’s summer collection.

The event was also held to raise awareness for genetic diseases which have affected two San Diego families. Local partners, clients and businesses donated products and services to support the Lund family of Bonita, Calf. whose 9-month old son is suffering from a rare disease called Aicardi-Goutieres Syndrome. Proceeds were donated in memory of dk hair’s client whose son recently died of another genetic disease called Krabbes. Contributions were generously received from Bumble and bumble, TRUE Cosmetics, MacCase, La Martina, Lexine Schroeder, 10 News (KGTV-TV) San Diego, Carola Eastwood, Sarah Angler, True Religion Jeans, Lovi Love Designs, Fred’s Mexican Café, Island’s Burgers and Goldie Rocks.
